Retreats with BZC:
Retreats with BZC provide participants with an opportunity to pursue spiritual enquiry in an environment of silence, stillness and collective effort.
Retreat days are structured around periods of sitting meditation alternating with walking meditation. There are regular breaks (for rest, yoga,
walking etc). We chant twice daily, and there is a period of work practice each morning.
Yearly residential retreats are lead by our guiding teacher, Zen Master Dae Gak, at the East Down Centre in Devon. Other retreats are led by his senior students.
There is a daily dharma talk, and also a daily opportunity for an individual interview with the teacher. Interviews are a time to consult about one’s particular practice, ask questions about zen meditation and take up koan enquiry.
Retreats are open to participants of all levels of experience. Please see the schedule for retreat dates, fees and details of how to register.
